Wave Audio. (Wav)

This is the generic file-type for recorded music on computers. Wav products are files that you can play on a normal music Hi-Fi system. They allow users to audition loops and samples easily and in comfort, whilst they are also useful for producers working in studios with older or vintage equipment that require you to sample the loops directly. Wavs are probably the most widely used and cross compatible type of music files in circulation today and you will be hard pushed to find a music application that cannot read a Wav file. Wav samples are widely found and can be presented in different bit and sample rates which will affect the quality and usability. All the Wav loops on offer at Organic Loops have been normalized for maximum volume and are trimmed and cropped ready to present in your music.
Acid Wavs.

All Wavs here at Organic Loops are have been ‘Acidised'!Acid Pro from Sony, along with many other music software packages now use Acid Loops which are essentially enriched Wav loops which have tempo and key information built into the file structure. Acid Loops and Samples are useful to the musician as they allow you to throw lots of different elements together on screen at a desired pitch and tempo which is great for getting ideas together and experimenting with different types of sounds quickly and easily.

REX Files.

Rex2 is a proprietary type of audio sample loop file format developed by Propellerheads, a Swedish music software company. The files are sliced internally offering musicians great flexibility with pitch and tempo of a loop or sample, allowing great freedom of expression and creativity. It is one of the most popular and widely supported loop file formats for sequencer and digital audio workstation software. Rex files are supported by Propellerhead Reason, Steinberg Cubase, Steinberg Nuendo, Apple Logic, Digidesign, Pro Tools, Cakewalk, Cakewalk Sonar, Image-Line FL Studio, MOTU Digital Performer, MOTU Mach 5 (software sampler), and Synapse Audio Orion Platinum, among others.

This product, which was invented by the famous Spectrasonics label, allows producers to manipulate grooves and loops in many new ways. It uses Rex2 Samples within its VST platform and we have arranged our sample banks in this section so that you can very quickly and easily load these soundbanks into the RMX engine.

Apple Loops.

These files are a Mac based format which were created to run with Logic and Apple's Garageband Software. They have much in common with Rex and Acid Loops in that Audio files can be tagged with their publishing info (Author, Comments, etc) and musical information (Key, Tempo, etc). This allows the producer to easily mix and match samples and loops with different pitches and tempos together, which can save valuable time. Its also great for indexing and retrieving the right sort of files when composing. Many more applications are now compatible with Apple Loops and at Organic Loops, we continue to increase our support for this loop type.
